New House

Hawthorn

A renovation? No!

Actually a new house we were asked to design in the Victorian style but with a modern interior.

Beach House

Queenscliff

Built 2014, a fantastic initiative by Quest Foundation, enabling disabled people to have a beach holiday, something most of us take for granted.

On a prime site in Queenscliff the house was superbly crafted by local builder David McDonald and offers full access including a lift to all levels including the roof deck.

Dual Occupancy Proposal

Won at VCAT appeal 2015.

The tribunal took the unprecedented view that this side-by-side development was reasonable in a 1930's precinct and granted us a permit.

Formally a run down workshop, it was reinvented to create gallery space, upstairs offices and a Japanese cafe.

The tired old cream brick facade was given a makeover with new frameless glass shop front for Kazari's dazzling and ever changing collections.

Distillery

Corio

We are delighted to be involved with the adaptive re-use of one of the world's largest whisky distilleries. Built in 1927, it produced a staggering quantity of spirits until becoming unprofitable in the 80's.

With both heritage protection and industrial zoning, a quite unusual combination, the 10,000 sqm of floor space is not easy to revive.

The plan?

It will be an automotive complex with an industrial museum, vehicle storage and car club centre, the lawn being ideal for display of historic treasures.

The centre piece of the museum are two massive original copper stills from the 1920's. Unsuited for modern use, they stand like beacons to a past era.
